Creating Beautiful Smiles to Last a Lifetime

If you "hate the dentist", you are in good company. Many people quickly admit that going to the dentist is not their favorite thing to do. However, a healthy mouth has a big impact on how we eat, smile, talk, laugh, sing… and are viewed by others. We love our teeth but we don't like the dentist!

Because avoiding the dentist is one of the surest ways to lose your teeth, Dr. Sieu is determined to change the way you feel about visits to the dentist. Since starting Novelty Hill Smiles, he has worked to provide dentistry the way his patients want – instead of the way it's always been done.

If you are like most of us, you've had the dentist find a cavity, place a rather large filling, and wondered why the filling is so large if the cavity wasn't there just six months before. The answer is that the cavity was there six months before - it just wasn't big enough to show on x-rays, and it wasn't visible to the dentist yet. The Laser Scanner finds cavities years earlier, when the ultra-small cavity can be removed and repaired with a small invisible bonded filling.

Dr. Sieu works hand-in-hand with patients to create a bond of teamwork.

One of the ways he brings this about is through the use of a high-tech tool, the Intra-Oral Camera. This amazing device is a miniature video camera that displays a close-up picture of the inside of your mouth.

You can see for yourself what work needs to be done and which teeth are doing fine. You then become a participant in each dental decision.

You'll love how this works!

You may have heard Diane Sawyer discuss this on Good Morning America, or maybe you've seen this in People Magazine. The FDA approved a new drug-free treatment for the prevention of migraine and tension headaches. This little miracle is called the NTI device, and it's now available in our practice.

It works by relaxing the muscles under the scalp and preventing the majority of headaches. Clinical trials showed that 82% of migraine sufferers achieved a 77% reduction in migraine events. It's painless, fast and NOT expensive. If you experience migraines or know someone who does then be sure to ask us about this exciting new treatment.

Teeth with roots that have been damaged or infected used to require extraction, which can cause a lot of problems and should be avoided whenever possible. The good news is that we are well experienced in advanced root canal therapy.

A root canal is a procedure to fix a tooth by removing the pulp chamber of a tooth and filling it with a filling material. This is often necessary when dental decay reaches the nerve of the tooth (or the tooth has become infected), and a simple filling will not be suitable.

In the not too distant past, the situation mentioned above would have required the tooth to be extracted. When dentists started performing root canals, they were quite painful, and the root canal has received a reputation as something to be avoided. However, with modern anesthetics and technology, the root canals we can perform in our practice are tolerable and, sometimes even painless.

Is this even possible? At Dr. Sieu's practice it is. It's called sedation dentistry. Before your visit you take a pill that we dispense to you. This allows you to relax through your entire visit. You will be able to respond to questions. When you awaken, there's little or no memory of the experience. This is ideal for fearful people or those who have a busy schedule and want to get their treatment in only one visit.

Introducing digital radiography, available at our practice. With this technology, an image is taken of the mouth with a digital sensor, and downloaded into our computer, where it is immediately available.

This method results in 75% less radiation than conventional x-rays. No more waiting for images to develop and no more chemical waste to pollute the environment.

Our goal is to provide our patients with care that lasts a lifetime.

We're very happy that most often, our continuing patients need no additional treatment. And occasionally people move far away. This means that we are always very happy to have new patients become a part of our family. We look forward to seeing you.
